Mankato is brewing up some history! | Taproom Travelers

Here is a little something for your Throw Back Thursday‬. In case you haven’t heard Kato Beer is back! Our friends at Mankato Brewery  (Mankato, MN) released some history last week by brewing some new life into the Kato Lager which has been out of production for almost 50 years. The new take on the old brew stays true to the American lager tastes of yesteryear and the German heritage of the old brewery from which the original Kato Beer came. However, head brewer Jacob Hamilton brewed the Munich Helle style lager with a modern craft beer‬ spin, kicking up the flavor a notch. This is a fitting release with father’s day fast approaching. So have a Kato Lager with your Dad and or Grandpa, and taste the history of Minnesota Beer! Oh and in case you are wondering rusty old can stays in the past and it now comes in new bottles! Cheers and happy travels!
